I have a Craftsman garage door and tried to use new Genie remotes that I matched my codes to. Needless to say it didn't work. I returned them. Now the garage door opens by itself a couple of times a day. I have since bought 2 new Craftsman remotes and changed the codes twice. I also followed a couple of different directions on how to reprogram using the smart button. Still no luck. HELP Please!!!

I had the same problem. I live near an airport and I was told that low flying planes can cause this problem.

My solution, I added surge suppresors on the outlets and kept trying diffrent codes until the problem stopped. No problem in the last 5 years.

When I bought my new house, first thing I did was to erase all the codes / remotes and reprogram ONLY the remotes I had. I remember there was a section in the manual on how to erase all the codes. Sounds like you might have accidently programed a near-by opener code. Try erasing everything and adding only one remote. See if the door still acts up over a few days. If it still acts up, erase the codes again and try the second. Could be the code of one of your remotes matches a neighbors house.

Sorry I can't tell you how to erase all the codes right now ... don't have the manual with me but it was easy to find and follow.
