What is wrong when the pressure switch keeps opening and closing rapidly when the water is running? Thanks for any help.

- Well Pressure Switch
1. you are running water
2. the pipe inside the well is leaking
3. the pump inside the well is leaking
4. your check valve inside the well is leaking
5. pipes from well to house are leaking
6. pressure tube on switch is loose and leaking.
common denominator here is you most likely have a a large leak somewhere.

He said that this happened when he was already running water, not when he wasn't.
While it might be a bad pressure switch my guess is the the pressure tank is water logged.
If it is a bladder type, depress the shrader valve and if you get water the blader is blown and best to replace the tank.
Otherwise you need to put some air into it.
