Crew...
I'm running new 20 amp circuits for a bathroom renovation...sent my step-son to ***** for 12-2 sheathed electrical cable; & he comes back with yellow cable (the package is labeled 12-2G Type NM-B.)
I haven't done any wiring in years...so...is this something new?
Can I use it for typical interior 20 amp appliance circuits?

The B indicates an imporved installion. Been standard for a number of years.
Color coding the cable in fairly new in the last couple of years.
white - #14
yellow - #12
orange - #10
What you have is standard #12 "sheathed electrical cable" and can be use for 20 amp appliance circuits.

The industry joke is the manufacturers had to color the wire for the inspectors!
Actually I like the color wire now that I have gotten used to it. It makes it easy to find in the trucks, inventory when on shelves and actually see what size wiring is going where!
