I am rewireing a house and adding base board heat. At this point I can go either way. What is the advantage to go 220 instead of 110?

You can use a smaller gauge wire and you will have more choices in length and wattage.

220 baseboard heat won't have to be AFCI protected...however the receptacles and lighting at 120V will.
