I just bought a new gas cooktop and I am replacing an electrical one. The old one is 220, but the new gas just needs 110 for the downdraft fan. The problem is that I only have a 220 plug under my cabinet. What is the easiest way to handle this?

I would trace the wires back to the box and change one of the conductors to a 110 breaker and just unhook and tape up the unused conductor.
