Looking to build a new home and I am thinking of 30 yr. 3D shingles. Is it worth it to use 40 yr. shingles at any time if you are not planning on living in the house for 40 years?

But will you live in the house for 30 years?
Just kidding. If you only plan to be there for 10 years or less, it probably won't matter in the resale value. After that it might.

I was asking more for the fact that the shingles are better, heavier, etc. for 40 than 25 or 30yrs. and may hold up better to higher velocity winds, etc. but perhaps you are right that it does not matter if you live in the house for 10 years or less.
Thanks.
