I have k&t wiring in my outcoves in my attic. How can I tell if it is still in use on my electrical system.
My wall fixtures are 3 prong but have limited # of them in each room. My circut panel is switches and not screw in bulbs. Is there a device to test wires in attic to tell if they are still live or just not removed when wiring was rewired.Inspector said when I bought house said there was about 30% still in house but did not remove fixtures to see for sure, so he was not sure

There is a proxminity dector or "tick tester" can be used to ID hot wires.
BUT THEY ARE NOT PERFECT AND HAVE BEEN KNOW TO GIVE FALSE INDICATIONS (BOTH POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE).
Also K&T wiring was often done in ways that are not longer allowed, such as switched neutrals and hot from one circuit and neutral from another.
Those will also confuse the tester.
Based on that and your lack of electrical systems I STRONGLY suggest that you get an electrican to do this.
