Looking to put new gutters and have a wooded lot thus it is a pain to clean gutters twice a year and thinking of using a "leafguard" type product. Does anyone have experience with these types of gutters?
The only other choice would be to use a regular gutter and add a commercial type screen.

I've had leaf guards for 2 years and am happy so far. I have lots of trees also. I think they are worth the money.

Did you consider commercial type screens prior to installing the "leafguard" type product? Which one do you actually have?

Screens don't work for me because I have a lot of pines, and pine needles will stick in all but the finest screen.
I don't recall the name but what I have is metal guides that guide the leaves, etc. to the outside of the gutter, while the water follows the curve of the metal and falls into the gutter.
I think this style is available from many sources.

Hey bolumenb,

Most LeafGuard customers really appreciate the fact that they don't have to clean their gutters anymore :)

There are a bunch of helpful videos on the website that explain how the technology works:

I have a friend that works for a gutter guard and anchor points company, and he has told me some horror stories about when people install the wrong type of gutter guard for their gutters.

He always recommends getting a professional to come and check out your property, even if they do not install the guards. If they are genuine, they will highlight variables that you may not have thought of, and can save you a lot of hard work and frustration.

He has some gutter guard reviews here - http://www.premiumgutterguard.com.au/FAQ.htm

At least that will give you some ideas of what types of gutter guards work, and which types do not.
