I just got a electric double wall oven to replace a gas one. I'm told that it draws 30 amps by GE.I have a roll of 10/3 wire copper is this suitable. I need to run about 50ft to the panel and have a spare 30 in the panel. The unit says 120/240v --
120/208v the pigtail on the unit is bx white red black and ground and says
600v -- Confused !
Thanks for any insight

Do the instructions say it requires a 30A circuit or that it draws 30A? Big difference. If a 30A circuit is required, then 10/3 with ground and a 30 double pole breaker is correct. If it DRAWS 30A , then you would need 8/3 and a 40A breaker.
Thanks househelper, thats the problem no where in the pamplets does it state that. I called GE's 800 number and they said it was 30 amp. from the model number given. Not that it draws 30 amps I worded that wrong.
