First time poster. Glad to be here.
A little introduction to my problem, I am currently having a remodel done on my house and, after the roof was ripped off, I had a nice downpour that broke through the roof tarp.
As a result, I had a few nice leaks through my ceiling. The one I am particularly worried about was a leak that appeared through one of my ceiling fans. It was going at a pretty good pace until my general contractor was able to repair the tarp and stop the inflow of water.
In the interim, besides not using the fan/light, what should I do to avoid destroying my home. Do I need to remove the ceiling fan? Can I just let it dry out over the next few days? Do I need an electrician to inspect the wires?
I have some basic wiring skills, but I am more worried about no future issues arising from this incident.
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
