I live in an apartment that was converted to condos. I want to change from a gas clothes dryer to an electric (condensation) one. I've been told that the electrical wiring in the development was inadequate for an electric dryer. Is there a way to have just the wiring for where the dryer is located upgraded to handle the "load"? And, any idea if that is really expensive?

There are two issues here. One is the size of the service, that is the amount of power available to that unit and not over load the supply wires or panel or have frequent tripping of the breakers.

The other issue is running the wiring to the dryer.

There are way to many variables of how the unit is constructed to where the panel and the dryer will be located to make any kind of guess other than it might be $200 or $2000 or even more.
