i am replacing a jin you ceiling fan switch it has six wires coming from it 2

black 2 yellow 1 gray and 1 orange. when replacing all the wires match up except

i have only 1 black and a purple wire

coming from the fan. where does the purple connect.it is a 3a250vac, 6a125vac

switch.
