Recently, I am experiencing severe interference on AM radio stations in house and garage, but only when the air conditioner is running.
When system is running, can shut down at thermostat and radio will be normal. Only AM is affected.
System is forced air 220V with outside compressor and inside exchanger and 100Amp service.
Possible cause?

powering the radio off the other leg that the furnace is on for starters,
then post back with results.
is this something that always was or just started?

Since it's a 220V compressor (like most AC's), there is no _other_ leg -- it is connected to both legs of the normal 110/220V single-phase supply.
the actual furnace,(not including the compressor)blower, relays, transformer, operate off 110.try plugging the radio into an outlet that is on the other leg of that stuff to eliminate that possibility.
