Wiring new cooktop

House has 2 black and 2 white. Cooktop has red, white and black. Thought black went to black and white to white, but I think I am wrong Where does RED from stove connect?

you need to run a line that matches the requirments of the stove which i believe is 220v amps unknown. what does the stovetop installation manual say?
