Need some advice. I have a hunting cabin that I have wired (1 circuit) that I plan on running with my generator. The location of the cabin is on solid limestone! What are my options for burying the grounding rod? There might be 8" of soil. Can I dig a trench and bury the rod? Thanks in advance for your help.

it was my understanding that as long as the unit isn't connected to the power grid then a grounding rod is not necessary.

the frame of the generator is the ground.

did you ever see construction workers connect up a ground rod at a work site?

don't take my word for it though, hopefully others will chime in.
