Hi, We have been preparing 100 year old home with tin ceilings and would like to know the best product for priming and then painting . There is only minimun rust. We have been chipping away most of the paint but there still remains small areas of paint that is difficult to remove. All suggestions are welcome. Thank You

Sandblasting can be an effective way to remove any contaminants. Bead blasting works just as well, but it is more costly and on soft materials can leave marks. Sandblasting equipment can be bought or rented, and many shipyards have sandblasters on hand and you may be able to have them do some work for you. For tin, a specialty primer is probably needed and special paints too.
