I want to put fabric backed vinyl wallpaper over existing paper-- do I need to first put anything special over the old wallpaper so the new paper will go on with no problems?
Why do you want to put it over the existing paper? I don't think I would do that. Fabric backed vinyl is pretty heavy and would probably be too heavy for the old wallpaper to hold it. I would be afraid the old paper would pull off the walls. I would strip the old paper off and start from scratch.
