The drywall tape (and the paint on it) are separating from the wall/ceiling seam in the basement. What to do ???

This is caused by 2 reasons, 1. The drywall has gotten wet or damp. 2. The tape was not properly applied.

If it was #1, you will need to fix the dampness problem first.

You will need to remove the peeling tape, cutting the tape where it has stopped peeling but is still adhered, then peel the tape off to the cut. Re-tape it and apply 2 bed coats on top. Sand, re-texture, prime and paint.
