It has been too cold and wet to attempt any permanent repairs. However, I did attempt to slide pieces of aluminum flashing under the shingles in the damaged area and used wet/dry roof cement, but nothing has worked. Obviously, some permanent repair is necessary when the weather stabiiizes.
Teh damaged area is right in the middle of the porch roof. How do I repair this? I am assuming I will have to remove an area of shingles, the underlying felt, and replace the warped decking. I am concerned how to weave new roof felt and shingles back into the existing shingles. Can one do this? Or is a tear off of the whole porch roof necessary?
