I was considering painting my old looking, kinda rusty baseboard heat covers instead of replacing them. My question is, can I safely paint them w/ say..Rustoleum? Is it recommended painting them at all?

I'm concerned about any fumes that it may generate(kid's room)

Thanx in advance

Hi ThomasM,
For hot water baseboards you can probably paint with nearly anything, although a spray like rustoleum will give you a nicer finish. For electric baseboard I would suggest a high heat spray, made for surfaces which get very hot.
