I am new at doing it yourself jobs. I would like to paint the window frames and window sills on a couple of windows. What is the best and easiest way to prevent the windows from being painted shut?

Hi newdoityourselfer,
Two things you can do to avoid painting the window shut.Paint with the window open or at least partially open so that you can move it easier when the paint dries.More importantly is to use paint sparingly along the window edge where it meets the frame. If you doubt your abilities (as I doubt my own) you may also wish to move the window up or down as you're painting. This will break any possible sticky spots before they totally dry and weld the window in one spot.
