I have striped very old wallpaper out of my bathroom..in the process the paper on the wallboard has also come off. How do I repair it?

Easiest is to skim the walls with thin (!) coats of drywall mud and sand, prime and paint. Use a wide drywall knife (10 or 12 inches) and thin the mud so it flows well (but is not drippy). We've done this many times on kitches, baths and bedrooms to cover old glue and roughness with good results. Good luck.
