Filling gaps in walls and around doors

I am fixing-up my daughters room and there are many gaps between the doors and the drywall. Some are about 1/16" big and others are almost 1" big. What is the BEST way to fill these gaps?

I'm confused. There's a gap between the door jamb and the drywall or between the trim around the door and the drywall?

Or is the trim pulling away from the wall?

How to "fill the gaps" depends on just where the gap is.
