I own a row home in the Fairmount disctrict of Philadelphia. The front of the row home is unpleasant to the eye. Although the brick and mortar are in good condition, there needs to be something done to the layers of red paint that have been accumulitated over the years. Some is peeling and in some areas, is stained so bad it is difficult to see any texture in the brick.

Question: When looking at all of my options, one was to paint the front white with character to it. You may of seen old homes painted white with areas of red brick showing thru?!?!

How do I do that. I don't want to paint the front forgettig about the brick. I want a historical mostly white/brick front. What shade of white? What can I do to make it look prof.? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! - Coury

It is hard to paint something and make it look old and do it well as it usually looks like you tried to do it rather than it happening over time. It would look good if you just painted it even and as far as the color of white there are hundreds of whites to choose from. To find out what to use on your house call one of the Duron Paint stores in your area and I am sure they can send a rep out to look at your house and give you a system that will work on your house.
Good luck.
