I painted my front foyer in an eggshell finish and want more resistance against everyday dirt. Can I, a) go over the paint job with the same glaze that one adds to paint to do a "faux" technique and get a more semi-gloss finish, OR b) mix a lot of glaze into the eggshell paint and paint a new coat for a more semi-gloss finish? Any suggestions if these aren't good solutions?
Thanks! MissM

A glaze is not the answer. Glaze looks nice, but you still need to put a protective coat over it.

You can just paint a semi-gloss over the eggshell if you wish.

If you used a high quality scrubbable paint, such as Sherwin-Williams, Pratt&Lambert, or Ben Moore you'd be fine as is.
