We are building a new home and are getting ready to install the kitchen cabinets. We love the depth and caramel color of the porcelain glaze finish on Maple that we have found produced by the commerical cabinet makers. We want to do the cabinet finish ourselves but after several tests can't get the process figured out. How can we get the same results.
Thanks.

Commercially made cabinets are finished with commercial grade materials, by commercial applicators.

It is very difficult for DIYers to duplicate a professional furniture cabinet finish.

If I were you I would look to fininding a professional cabinet maker - take a look at his or her work - and then pay them to do your finish.
