I am having a major problem. We painted our office in a dark mahagany color, the trim in the office is white, so we thought white moulding would work. WRONG! There was too much contrast with the walls and the moulding and the ceiling (which is white also). SO my question is what color should I paint the ceiling and moulding so that it isn't too contrasting-and do I have to then paint the window trim and the baseboards the same color?? This is very confusing. I am thinking of painting the ceiling dark also and then how do I make the crown moulding stand out with out standing out too much. Oh one more issue is the desk in the room is honey maple so cherrywood stain is out of the question. HELP!

Go to The Home Depot. Glidden has a CD for sale there called Color @ Home II. It is $7. You can import a digital picture of your room - and change the colors - this will allow you to see what things will look like before you paint.

It is 7 bucks very well spent!
