i'm moving into a room that has a pink wallpaper. i want to paint it, but i don't have the time to take it off, plus i think it is painted straight on the drywall. I've read in previous threads that there is an effective way to prime and paint over the wallpaper? how is this done?

If it is paper backed vinyl you should prime it with an oil based primer, and it does not have to be a fast dry type unless you want to put the finish paint on in the same day. Just be sure the paper is tight on the wall and the seams are not loose. Once you have primed the paper you can apply the latex finish of your choice.
