im residing my house this summer. my extrior walls are 2X4 and i am thinking of putting up 1" shiplap sm R5 syrofoam on the exterior so i can get more r value. My question is do i have to put up straping over the syrofoam for the siding to nail too, or could i just nail throught the syrofoam to the wall (i understand that i have to leave some give for the siding to move, not to nail tight)
