I put two low clearance Crestline skylights in my roof 10 years ago and they have leaked everytime we get a heavy rain. I put more tar around them each year and I am tired of it.

I installed them the way the instructions described. They have a bonded bed flange all the way around them (supposedly no need for step flanges)

I saw on one of Vila's shows where they were putting in a skylight and they used this vucanized rubber with an adheasive on one side which was about 8-12 inches wide and came in a roll and you had to peal off the coating before applying it to the roof.

I have hail damage from a storm a month ago and they are paying for the roof to be replaced and it is prime time to get this fixed right.

Can anyone point me to a supplier for this stuff??

Many thanks!

Chuck

In my area the home supplly house carry a similar product called Vycor. You can also use any bituthyne product such as Grace Ice and Water shield, which may be a part oof the rest of the roofing. You can just tell the roofers you want the skylights re-wrapped with bituthyne.

I've never used crestline soi i don't know how good they are. I always use velux skylights and never have problems.

You can get similar results by using Liquid Roof.
