I painted my entry way orange and did not realize it was a semi-gloss. It's very bright and I'm wondering if I can dull it down and remove some shine without re-painting.

No - you will have to sand it lightly to remove the shine and paint with a flatter paint - an Eggshell or a Satin.

Some people say you can use a paper bag to dull the finish,or like a very high grit sandpaper, from a auto body store, not a bodyshop, but a place that sells autobody stuff.
Like a 600 grit or a 1000 grit sandpaper you could try.Is worth a shot to try before painting. Why not if you have to repaint anyhow if it doesn't work is worth the shot try the 1000,1st then if it isn't dulling try the 600 grit.
