I hope someone can help me with my prob. We are putting knotty pine on our walls, and keeping it blonde. My husband insisted on putting it up before we sanded and varished it. Now I'm stuck with that job after he gets it on the walls. I am on my fifth coat now (sanding between coats as directed). I'm using high gloss. I cannot get it smooth. I clean the walls after sanding and i even started waiting until the next day to varish to let any dust from sanding settle. please give me some tips so i dont have to do a 6th coat!

What do you mean in that statement, gets what on the walls?
You should of sanded with a 220 grit before putting anything on,then using a black bristle brush, apply 1 coat of sealer, let dry then sand with 220 again, apply a coat of the top coat you are using, then depending what you are going for sand with the 220 again then apply a final coat and it should be nice and smooth, why it is still rough, maybe you have debri in you material. After you sand are you wiping down the walls with a tac-cloth?
