If it is just the normal paint smellkind of smell you may just need to open the windows for a day or two. If you don't have enough air movement the odor can hang around for a while.

That is pretty typical,ive noticed reds and browns seem to do this more because of the bases and pigments added to it.
Use a fan make sure door is open to that room at all times and if possible keep a window open in their.(depending where you live like where im at impossible at 10 below.)
