All walls/ceilings in my new house are knockdown texture. As I paint the house, room by room, I would like to remove this texture, leaving flat surface with the look of plaster. Should I remove the texture - if so how, should I fill the texture - if so with what material (joint compound/plaster of paris, etc). Also, once I have resurfaced, what will I need to do to prep for painting. Thanks,Kevin

This sounds like a terrible job and the drywall paper may rip at the same time or you may accidently gouge the wall with a scraper or however you are getting it off, have you done any rooms yet?
Im just curious as to how it is going for you is all?Sorry I have no input.
