Help with painting

Hi, first of all I don't know much about painting so this may not make sense but I'll give it a try.

Anyways my house is painted in oil based paint, so I went to buy oil based paint, and for some reason I was given water based. I didn't notice this until I was halfway done the room I am painting. So I tried to scrub it all off, but it didn't all come off.

I bought a primer that you put on oil based walls so you can paint water based paint on. My question is, seeing as my wall is half and half, can I use that primer even though there is water based paint on the wall, and this primer is supposed to go on oil based.

If not, what can I do. Seeing as my wall is half water, and half oil based. Thanks.

Yes you can use this primer over oil or water based paints as if it will stick to the oil based it will stick to the water based as well.
The latex paint is on the wall now and you will just have to hope it does not peel off. I would go and prime the entire room and then put on a finish coat of latex over that.
What room was this and was there a shine to the paint already on the walls?

This would be the bathroom.

I tried to heat the bathroom up with the shower, and peel the paint off, which worked well, so what your saying by hoping that it doesn't peel off obviously leaves me in doubts that it won't.

About the shine, I don't really, know, it's a darker room with a small window, so I've never really noticed. I suppose there's a bit of a shine.

I would lightly sand the painted surface just enough to break thru to the oil paint before priming (it should go fairly easy) with about a 120 grit sanding block.If it is valuted get a drywall sanding pole.
this should help ensure that you got a good hold going over the stuff you painted with latex by accident.
Dont do the whole room just where you need to.Spend the time to sand you'll be glad you did.
