I have a very, VERY, high ceiling in the living room and the entrance of my new home. We would like to paint, but we just cannot find an appropriate ladder. Are there scissor lifts that we can rent for this? Are they too heavy for the floor of the house (there is a basement). Thank you.

There are scissors lifts, but they are expensive to rent. Erecting rented scaffolding inside the room would be the safest, most cost-effective way of reaching and painting the ceiling. Best to clear the room of furniture so you can slide/move the scaffolding around the room easily without needing to jump over furniture
