I've heard that you can mix drywall mud and your primer. It is supposed to hide your mud imperfections. Does anyone know what the ratio of mud to primer is? And does this work very well? I know it gives a little bit of a texture to your walls but hides the imperfections.

thanks,

We paint alot of new homes and yes the rockers mix primer with the mud they put in their spray hoppers.

Now I have not seen them use it in just the mud itself when mudding the tape, but this does not mean they don't because the time we see the house it is all mudded and sanded and usually textured knockdown.

Here where we live people love the knockdown, its not because of imperfections.

Textured homes or T&Groove int. and halflog ext. homes are the craze here.
