Hello All;

I'm a first time home owner and as you can tell I need some help. I have sucsessfully removed a window and put a door in it's place but the window was much larger than the door. I have added new drywall to fill in the rest of the wall but the problem is the drywall is smooth and the exsisting walls are textured. How do I get the same effect? Thank You Kim

You can use joint compound to build up a thin texture on the drywall. Spread using a trowel, taping knife, etc. and hopefully you can match the old wall's texture.
