I need to remove the old paint from my front porch posts, railings and spindels. They are made of wood. Scraping and sanding will take forvever. Would it be okay to rent a pressure washer to remove the old paint. Seems to me it would take a lot less time. What are the pros and cons

Pros are yes it is quicker, and alot more easier.
Cons-If you get to close or to much pressure you will damage your wood, most of the time paint is still really hard to get off adhered so well in most spots that alot of home owners get so close they wreck the wood. You need to wait 2 days to let dry out before priming, you dont wanna seal in the water as this will damage the new paint in a very short amount of time (by next year) the water is gonna try and get out and only way is thru the paint thus bubbling and peeling will happen very soon.
I'd rent it be safe do a good job what doesnt come off sand down.
