Help! I removed the old wallpaper in a room of my house and found that the previous owners had painted (or primed) over the adhesive from an older coat of wallpaper rather than removing it, before applying the layer of wallpaper that I removed. The result is that DIF won't remove the adhesive and it needs to come off before I can paint the wall. I tried scraping it off with little success. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to deal with this sticky mess? I was considering skim-coating the entire wall but I wonder if that is just going to make things worse.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!
