drywall compound! l find the drywall compound l'm using right now is shrinking in too much. as the latex paint is drying and curing the patches l've fixed are still showing!! need help!! is driving me crazy!!!!

Are you feathering the edges out from the repair?

l do all the things that you asked in the reply. the last time when l had problems we had used a new product called "guardz". it is meant for sealing drywall. its an oil base sealer. not sure if this was the problem ? or maybe should have used another compound? never have l had so much problems with the compound shrinking back like that.
