I put 5" brass numbers on my house 10+ years ago--when they were new, they were bright and shinny---as expected, after 10+ years, they have become dull & tarnished --I am going to polish them--- after polishing, I am thinking of simply spraying them with a clear gloss polyurtehne (sp?) e.g., the stuff one can purchase in a spray can at a home improvement store---- How does that sound???--- is there something better??? Any feedback would be appreicated. ---Jim S.

I don't see why that would not work but just be sure to get the exterior urethane though. I would think that at least 3 coats would be good.
