House was painted or stained (dont know which) almost 3 years ago. The paint is in great shape, but horrible color. I want to repaint- what steps to I take as far as power washing, etc. before putting on the color? Also, living in the Maryland area- and it is early October. Are there weather concerns I need to be aware of when painting the exterior of a home?

Thanks in advance.

It does need to be washed before you paint and a great product to use is JOMAX as it will take care of the dirt and mildew. All you need with this product is a pump up garden sprayer and a garden hose to wash your house and in my opinion it does better than a power washer at getting your house clean and ready for painting.

You will want to use an acrylic solid hide stain and Duron Maxwood Acrylic Solid Siding stain would do a great job. As long as it is over 45 to 50 degrees you will be fine useing this product and you still have plenty of good weather left.
