I have western knotty cedar(OLD)paneled walls. For a no sanding treatment is this possible..using tinted laytex primer "for glossy surfaces" adding a glaze medium,I want to paint and then wipe some off the walls. By adding the glaze would the primer still hold to the glossy varnished wood?

The best primer to use will be BIN pigmented shellac from Zinsser. You will be able to apply the glaze over the primer if you wish but not add it to the primer though.
