Has anyone used California brand exterior house paint? The California brand extrerior paint recently was rated #1 by Consumer Reports magazine. This is a repeat of its first place finish in the magazine's rating of paints approximately 2 years ago. I live in Central Texas and would need to have the paint shipped in from out of state. It is not sold in Texas. This is not really a problem, but would like to know if any one else has used this paint. And if so, do you rate it as highly as Consumer Reports?

Well, its a new one on me. The company is located in the East and isn't even sold in California. I'm sure it is excellent quality, but not enough better than the 100% acrylic formulations available locally. I have a contractor account with Benjamin Moore and Kelley Moore and use those with good success. I think the realtionship ans support with a professional store is worthwhile, especially if a problem or new situation arises.
Note that architectural coatings are subject to local regulations for VOC content, and importing paints (especially to California) may actually be a violation. Still, an interesting name for a company that doesn't even market here.
