A painter came out to the house to give an estimate. I asked about using elastomera. He said he would not use the stuff for painting a house. Could someone tell me what this person would be against using this type of paint?
Unless your house is constructed out of stucco you do not need an elastomeric coating. It is designed to bridge across hairline cracks in these types of substrates.
