Hi, I am in an older home that when purchased there were a few spots in the kitchen where the paint was peeling. After 1 year of a dryer unvented the peeling is much worse. My question is WHAT is peeling. The paint coming off is very thick and if I had to guess I would say it's like the paper on drywall coming with the paint. But underneath it looks almost more like a grey/white color like concrete. I thought drywall is white when the paper peels back. Does anyone know what is going on and what I should do?

Thanks

Jo
