trying to stain or paint t1 11 for interior use. i want the weathered look using a blue color. i want the wood texture to be visible. tried staining with semi transparent stain but it coats the wood like a solid stain. trying to get the look thats at Red Lobster. any suggestions?

Are you using an oil based stain? As the waterbased stains have a tendency to look more close to a solid than a true stain look. If you are using an oil based stain and it looks to solid, then you could go back to the store you purchased the stain from and get a gallon of untinted base and mix it with the tinted stain and that may very well give you the look you want.
