Hi! I have an old metal shed in my yard that has seen better days, I would like to paint it to make it look a little better. What type of paint should I look for, and any prep tips? It does have some rust, is there a treatment I can use for the rust prior to painting? Thanks for any advice!

I painted my metal shed four years ago and so far so good. (Buf, NY all sorts of weather going on!) I started by washing it w/ soap and water and let it dry for a day. Next i sanded it by hand using 180 grit sandpaper, i also had rust at the bottom and sanded it almost off. I then wiped the complete shed down w/ paint thinner.I used a good ext primer which was also a bonder. For my top coat i used 100% acrylic ext paint. (on the rust spots i used a spray can of rust blocker)I find The prep and prime are the keys to success.--revere 22//munro products
