I have white formica wall can they be painted and if so what is the best primer and paint to use?

Even the best primers will have a hard time on something this slick!!

* Using ~ 200-grit sanding-sponge, evenly scuff-sand to reduce that slickness.

* Remove all dust.

* Use Zinsser's BIN primer. It's smelly (shellac-resin in alcohol), but the best primer for this job.

* A decent 2nd choice is the C2-ONE primer, or Zinsser's 123. These are latex.

* After prime-coat is dry, check closely for any spot-sanding you may need. Use a flashlight laid flat against wall.

Now...you're ready for TWO FULL TOPCOATS of paint. I'd use a Satin or Semi-gloss.
